Lana connects.

Holidays and home.

Blooming zest for life in South Tyrolean spring

When nature in Lana awakens after its winter slumber, so does the desire for a holiday. In spring, the Lana region not only combines the green orchards in the valley and the still gleaming white peaks in the mountains. In this tranquil holiday haven, the first mild rays of sunshine warm smiling faces, fresh spring dishes treat amazed tastebuds, and active explorers discover the routes along the irrigation channels in full bloom.

Then it’s time for a gentle hike, a brisk bike ride, colourful culinary enjoyment, and all-around relaxation. Anyone who has been here knows: Lana connects. Maybe you and us, too?

Hiking mood
All those that love a good walk or gentle hike will feel at home along the Waalwege (irrigation channels) in Lana. Your gaze wanders over the still snow-covered mountains, the intoxicating scent of apple blossoms fills your nose, and your legs carry you along beside the water as if by themselves. The flat Waalwege paths between the forest and meadows are also suitable for inexperienced hikers and families. With their natural beauty, they are a true homage to spring.

A variety of tastes
The cuisine in South Tyrol is unique. Nowhere else do a sense of Mediterranean lightness and Alpine flavours blend as harmoniously as here. Whether it's an "aperitivo" in the sunshine, a delicious platter of cured meats in a tavern or fine dining in a gourmet restaurant: Lana's cuisine knows how to surprise and delight. Especially in spring, when it is all about fresh natural ingredients combined creatively on your plate.

Cultural experience
At no other time of year do culture and nature combine in such a special way as in spring. Centuries-old churches, imposing castles and picturesque palaces make an even greater impression against the backdrop of fragrant apple blossom. There are also plenty of museums to explore and in the famous spa town of Merano, more sights await you, including the famous gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle.
